Correspondence from Siegel Tokiro
[The letters from the Wing-Arisaka engineer named Siegel Tokihiro to Edward Grail are written in Japanese and ciphered. The text is to be read right to left across columns, with a character substitution code using a prime number as the randomizer, and filler characters to denote the ends of words and phrases.]

Progress on project DMG proceeds. Our initial difficulties with the self-generating code have been overcome and we now have a working prototype. Granted, it possesses the approximate intellect of a terrier, but this is a considerable improvement over our earlier efforts.
Request parameters for the logical thinking and decision making capacities you want to instill in the next iteration.

Forced to scrap DMG-3. As I mentioned in my missive from last month, we batched DMG-2 and commuted the bulk of the code over into a new prototype. Unfortunately it seems the current iteration of the neural network is incapable of thinking beyond a purely utilitarian balance of harm and benefit. We will need a more nuanced philosophical framework.
I still question whether you can teach a computer the concepts of love and mercy.

DMG-13 interfaces with an Alpha prototype at any range and without the processing lag that we feared. The notion of the “hive mind” seems completely workable.
Request permission to delay the next version of DMG to focus on the Alphas.
(Sorry, you know I get excited about new things.)

The Beta line is, I think, complete. The soulprinting made all the difference. They should be behaviorally and physically indistinguishable now.
I do wonder about cross-propagation and cross-contamination of knowledge. If the Betas relay to a central point, will they share awareness?
No further updates on DMG. Version 13 still appears to be stable.

Merry Christmas, Edward.
I’ve attached an early version of the sensors for Project SPD. The full device should be forthcoming in the new year. I’m still not sure exactly what your concern is; DMG-13 will know the location and disposition of every Beta model. An extra check seems redundant.
